Airlines

Perth is Australia's western gateway. Thirteen different international airlines service Perth Airport, with some operating multiple daily services. Perth is approximately 17 hours flying time from Los Angeles and London, 15 hours from Frankfurt, 10 hours from Dubai, and 5 hours from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Perth is also serviced by three domestic airlines which connect Perth to every major city in Australia. Perth is 4 hours flying time from Melbourne and 5 hours from Sydney.

Visas

All international visitors, apart from New Zealand citizens, must obtain a Visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to travel to Australia. Australia's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is an electronically-stored authority equivalent to a visa. ETAs are available online 24 hours a day 7 days a week for applicants outside Australia, and can also be booked by your travel agent or airline. ETAs are available to passport holders from a number of countries and regions, you can check here for your eligibility. All family members travelling to Australia with the ETA holder must also have a visa or ETA.

Delegates from non-ETA countries will need to obtain a short stay Business visa, even if tourism activities are planned for some of the time spent in Australia. It is called a 456 visa and is issued as a label into a passport.

Customs

Delegates carrying commercial goods or samples may need to obtain permits for their goods depending on the nature of the goods, regardless of value. Quarantine and wildlife regulations and other restrictions may also apply to certain goods. Travelers must also declare amounts of $10,000 or more in foreign or Australian currency you take into or out of Australia. For more useful information try the Australian Customs Service and Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS).
