We — scientists and the public together — stand at a new threshold leading to deeper understanding and enhancement of the human experience. What distinguishes IGSP is its breadth and its purposeful focus on health and social policy. We bring together scientists, engineers, physicians, lawyers, policymakers, business leaders, economists, ethicists, humanists and students to explore the genome, embrace its potential and enrich the human condition.

  • ERASAGE (European Research Area on Societal aspects of Genomics)
ERASAGE is an ERA net co-ordinated by Netherlands Genomics Initiative at the Centre for Society and Genomics in Nijmegen. Funded by the European Commission, the project started on 1 May 2005 and lasts five years. It involves partners from national funding agencies with specific funding allocated to the field of ELSA genomics in the United Kingdom, Austria, Norway, Finland, Germany and Canada as well as funding agencies with a specific interest in this field from Israel and Switzerland.

The common goal is to develop a durable partnership in research funding policy and practice between the partners, in order to create added value in high quality transnational research and to achieve a more coherent and efficient use of human and financial resources. This objective will be achieved by gradually increasing the level of co-ordination and co-operation of different national programmes, and may ultimately lead to a common call being established amongst some of the partners.
